The number of bloggers unsatisfied with the quality of traffic from Entrecard has grown over the past month. John Cow who made his last drop of Entrecard, Becky who also dropped her Entrecard and Ritu who bid goodbye to Entrecard and is giving away all his credits are among the Bloggers who gave up on Entrecard. Here are the reasons why they removed Entrecard from their blogs.

  • Increasing Bounce Rate.
  • Unfair Blog Ranking
  • Unjustified High Price For Advertisement
  • The Need To Drop Your Card To Other Blogs

Somehow, the quality of traffic from Entrecard is not good. Google Analytics can back you up with that but removing Entrecard from your blog is just a bad move. Instead of complaining about the poor quality of traffic you get from Entrecard, why not do something to improve it. Instead of being envious at how other bloggers are ranked higher over “your popular blog”, why not accept the fact that your strategy is not working and do something about it. Instead of bitching about how expensive the advertising price of a blog with 22 subscribers compared to “your heavily subscribed blog”, why not accept the fact that the Blogosphere has a lot of complex ranking systems which may or may not please you. After all, Entrecard is not all about “YOUR BLOG”. It’s about building community and traffic.

Here are the benefits you let go when you remove Entrecard from your blog.

  • Lots of traffic that have the potential of becoming your subscriber or your avid reader.
  • You let go of the benefits of being discovered by other bloggers.
  • You let go of the opportunity to advertise in other blogs. Sad for you, you need to pay thousand of dollars to advertise at Problogger.net and JohnChow.com.
  • You let go of improving your Alexa Traffic Rank. Since most Entrecard users are bloggers, most of them have Alexa toolbar installed in their computer.
  • You let go of potential income for your blog.
  • You let go of the chance to network with other bloggers.
  • You let go of the opportunity to shop at Entrecard.
  • You let go of the being linked to by other Entrecard users.
  • Your blog is missing possible comments on your post.

And the list goes on.

Here are some of my suggestions to help you with your Entrecard problems.

Increasing Bounce Rate

  1. To reduce your blog’s bounce rate, change your URL at Entrecard and have it directed to your interesting post.
  2. You can also place your widget at the bottom of your post to keep your visitors scrolling down your blog and peruse your post.
  3. Catch your visitor’s attention with a “killer post title”.
  4. Drop your Entrecard to relevant sites.
  5. Submit your blog to the relevant category at Entrecard.

Unfair Blog Ranking

Since when was a blog ranking in the Blogosphere fair? Not even Technorati and Alexa. The rules were designed to even out the playing field and allow small bloggers to compete with the Big ones.

Unjustified High Price For Advertisement

John Cow complained on  his post that the price to advertise on other blogs are unjustified. Well, I have the same feeling about the price you need to pay ReviewMe to get a JohnCow review. I guess it boils down to one thing, that there are different systems in place that sometimes you need more than traffic to get what you want.

The Need To Drop Your Card

Then don’t drop your card to other blogs. There are other ways you can do to earn Entrecard credits. Accept bids from other blogs to advertise on  your blog, join Entrecard contests or request from other Entrecard users. ;)
I’ll be waiting for your response. Thanks for your time. :)
