The problem is, it rarely works. Why? Simple. There are too many people spamming the chatroom and so if you share your links in a chatroom, it will be regarded as a spam and it'll receive lesser clicks. I use YM to chat with friends and readers online and not really to drive traffic to my blog. When I was new to blogging, I tried the same strategy to drive traffic to my blog.
