Referrals from search engines will follow after you are able to optimize your blog.

Today, I will be starting a series of post that will focus on different free social networks that you can use to attract more traffic to your blog. Remember that building traffic to your blog takes time. Bloggers who are receiving a huge daily traffic has worked hard before they achieve the traffic they have today.

Free Social Network Online

  • MySpace.com – The largest social network on the planet with over 140 million accounts registered. Joining MySpace will allow you to drive more traffic to your blog by taking advantage of the free social networking services.
  • Friendster.com – Another free social network that you can join. Creating an account will enable you to do as much as you can with MySpace.
  • Bebo.com – Networking using Bebo is also an opportunity for you to get exposure. Like Myspace and Friendster, Bebo gives you the same services. (eg. blog, profile, etc.)
  • Hi5.com – Another service that provides you the same service as Friendster and Myspace.
  • FaceBook.com – Intentionally created for teenagers but has grown popular among the older folks. It has some wonderful and exciting features too.
  • NetLog.com – Formerly known as Facebox. It offers the same features as the rest of the list.
  • Vox.com
  • Multiply.com

  • Create your profile and expose yourself to the community.
  • Build a network of friend. Invite your friends to join and add more friends to your list from the current members.
  • Create your own free blog. Use your free blog to introduce your posts on your official blog. Always provide a summary and a link to the posts on your official blog.
  • Join specific groups that has the same interest as you or is related to your blog. Actively participate in their discussions.
  • Visit other member’s account, Blog, Polls etc. and leave your comments. Most of these social networks allow you to use HTML so you can always provide a link to your blog or to your profile.
