Hi there this is a very useful post you have here. Writers block is something I was chatting to someone about today funnily enough.

I find that if you are having a creative day blogging you should get a few posts ready and delay their release over a course of a few days.

That way when you have a bad day, you will still have content on your site and something for your readers to look at.

Thanks

sometimes I just walk away from my laptop and do something completely unrelated to blogging/writing. For some reason, it works all the time for me.. I'll come back with a fresh new idea.

Also.. sometimes I go through bursts of ideas and I quickly write them down.. even if its just a title or topic idea. The great thing about this is I do it often enough to always have goods on a rainy day

and since MY blog is about personal development - JEMi style of course :) - my biggest inspiration is life itself.. talking to friends/family.. watching a movie.. reading.. these things all help me get my wheels a'turnin

I like the idea of relaxing your mind when the brain gets tired thinking for the next article to post..
Taking interesting pictures of graffiti walls, or great architecture in my hometown with my digi-cam is what I do to free my mind, however I'd still have the chance to find creative inspiration about design by doing so :)
Great tips you wrote Rocky! Keep blogging!

@ Mark,
Writing a post in your head while doing something else is probably difficult for me. I tend to forget it. I think I'll probably need a notebook so I can jot down ideas that comes to mind then polish it later.

Very good post! Another problem for bloggers can be information overload. This in turn can lead to writers block. It's far easier sometimes to "write" a post in your head while out doing something else than in front on the PC! At work, easier still! It helps to "get away from it" sometimes.

Ideas come in an unpredictable manner and the best is to bring along a notebook and jot everything down, even bits that you can think off when you are offline.

Also, have the habit of pre-writing posts whenever you have plenty of time to build up a huge store of drafts to overcome blogger's block.

Great post. You have some good tips there. I tend to try and look at things from a different angle or just get a change of scene. Sometimes I read the newspaper, watch a documentary, read other blogs or just take a random word or phrase and do a news search and see what comes up.
