Making a post series is a great strategy. It’s also helpful to the blogger as you already have a specific topic to talk about.

Bloggers often sought for new traffic sources without noticing that existing readers is sneaking out through the back door. This might be the reason why many bloggers are facing a traffic stand still (no increase or decrease of traffic over a period).

I would say engaging with blog readers is the best way to retain existing readers as they are more likely to come back and interact with you, the blogger.

I think one of the key to attract new blog reader from the search engine or social bookmarking is to use a good blog post title. Use some of relevant topic about your blog, will make your more visible on search engine.
