One of the benefits of using offline promotion and marketing is the lesser competition for attention. Online blog promotion and marketing is more challenging in a sense that there is tough competition among advertisers to grab attention and divert traffic to their website. In most cases, you’ll find that online blog promotion is actually more expensive than offline especially if you want to advertise on popular and heavily-trafficked websites. As for offline, you will definitely find various options that will suit your budget.

Here’s a list of different offline promotion and marketing strategies you might want to consider.

1. Put Your URL Wherever Possible

Visibility is the key to successful offline promotion and marketing so make sure you put your URL wherever possible. Wherever possible include but not limited to:

  • freebies from google, google freebiesBusiness Cards
  • Post Cards
  • T-shirts
  • Table Cards
  • Signatures
  • Fax Cover Sheets
  • Invoices
  • Brochures
  • Promotional Items
  • Company / Personal Car
  • Letter Heads
  • Flyers

2. Promote Your Blog Through Mass Media

Mass media refers to those media that are designed to be consumed by large audiences through the agencies of technology like the Television, Prints and Radio. Unfortunately, these means of promotion and marketing may not come cheap but you can always try advertising to the local televisions, newspapers and radio stations for a lower cost.

With mass media however, there’s no guarantee that your advertisement is delivered to the right audience. More often than not, your advertisement is shown to a wide range of audience which may or may not find your advertisement relevant to them. To solve this problem, your advertisment should have proper timing. You can choose to air your advertisment on a certain time and program where the audience are most likely going to be interested of your advert.

3. Self Marketing and Self Promotion

Self promotion is another valuable offline marketing strategy that can drive more traffic to your blog. While you can pay for someone to market your website, you (the owner) are still the best person to do the promotion and marketing. Besides, paying Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt to promote your website doesn’t come cheap.

Here are some self marketing and self promotion strategies you might want to consider.

  • Tell your family, friends, co-workers and all your acquaintances about your blog.
  • Request your family and all your acquaintances to tell their friends about your blog.
  • Conduct a free seminar and introduce your websites / products / services to the participants.
  • Participate in seminars and volunteer as a speaker.
  • Get yourself interviewed by the media and don’t forget to talk about your website.
  • Attend expos and exhibitions.

4. Bribe People To Visit Your Blog

The best bribe you can give people is the quality of information that you offer on your blog but this does not appeal as much as when you give them something tangible like freebies. Remember how multi-level-marketing companies lure people into becoming a member of their network? They give a lot of freebies and tons of testimonials, which always work for them. Here are some suggestions for offline promotion and marketing.

  • If you run a make money online blog, create an instructional video on how people can earn money blogging. Make sure to put your URL, logo and banner on the CD. Don’t forget to refer your viewers to your website for more tips and resources on making money online. You can choose to sell your instructional video or give it for free.
  • Brand “stuffs” like mugs, ballpens, caps, t-shirts, hankies, notebooks etc. with your logo, URL and banner and sell it or give it away for free. This creates extended advertisement as those who use your giveaways will at the same time promote your website.

5. Yellow Pages and Press Releases

Consider Yellow Pages as your offline directory, which may not give you any link juice but can drive traffic to your blog. Yellow Pages is a classified telephone directory or section of a directory, listing subscribers by the type of business or service they offer, usually printed on yellow paper. To get listed, some yellow pages will require you to pay listing fee much like paid online directories, but most of them are free. To get more exposure, you need to occupy a larger space in the yellow page and in this case, you need to pay more.

Doing a Press release is another offline promotion and marketing strategy that can help increase the number of visitors to your blog. A press release is an announcement distributed to members of the press in order to supplement or replace an oral presentation. Hence, it is prepared by companies or parties involved and not by a reporter.

6. Sponsor Events or Activities in your Locality

Sponsoring events and activities is another offline marketing strategy for your blog. By sponsoring events like sports competition, you get the benefit of being advertised. Also, you can display your banners and advertisements around the venue within the duration of the event. At the same time, you can give promotional materials to the participants.

When sponsoring activies and events, you need to talk to the organizers about your incentives as a sponsor. It is recommended that you have a written agreement with the organizers to avoid any future problems or conflicts.

There you have it. It’s up to you now. Remember that these offline promotion and marketing strategies may or may not work well on your blog depending on various factors and circumstances. Tips 1, 3, 4 and 6 has worked well for Blogging Mix but then again, it might not work for you so you need careful planning and budgeting.

Thank you for your time and good luck to your offline promotion and marketing.
