Finally, Blog Rush is going to introduce flavors on their widget. With the introduction of Blog Rush flavors you’ll be able to choose the color of your choice so it more closely matches the design of your blog. The new designs will be available in a few days.

Blog Rush And Traffic

It’s almost seven days since I’ve installed the Blog Rush widget on my blog but I don’t see any significant amount of traffic referral from the Blog Rush widget. I guess my expectation was too high. Despite the unmet expectations, I’ve decided to give Blog Rush some more time. I know that Blog Rush has just been launched and haven’t operated for more than a month so lots of improvements should be done. I’m sure that John Reese and the rest of the Blog Rush team are really working hard to keep up to their promises and deliver the expected services from them. It’s sad that some bloggers have judged Blog Rush too early and didn’t even give it a chance. Well, I guess time will tell.

Blog Rush Problems

Today, as I was checking on my blog, I’ve found out that my Blog Rush widget contained a link to a pornographic website. I went straight to my Blog Rush dashboard and filtered the URL and included some keywords that I don’t wish to show up on the Blog Rush widget found on my blog.

I believe that the filtering system of Blog Rush needs alot of improvements. Firstly, Blog Rush members shouldn’t be doing the filtering. It would probably be a great idea if Blog Rush will automatically filter spams, unwanted or unrelated links. I understand that since Blog Rush is newly introduced, it needs more members to join so perhaps membership isn’t yet regulated. Although I believe it’s at the best interest of Blog Rush to manually check blogs that are registered.

Blogging Mix’s Suggestions

The common problem that bloggers encounter with the Blog Rush widget is that sometimes it contains several links to blogs or websites that cover unrelated topics. Of course, since my blog is all about blogs, bloggers and blogging, I’m expecting that the links shown on my Blog Rush widget should be something related to my blog topic. Obviously, the problem is due to the limited categories and subcategories of blogs. If Blog Rush can include more categories and even more subcategories then it will improve the relevance of the links found on the Blog Rush widget and the topic of the blog where the widget can be found.

Also, Blog Rush implementing a manual check to all the blogs submitted and registered will no doubt improve their service. Doing this will make sure that all blogs submitted or registered are submitted to the proper category where it belongs. Moreover, this will ensure that no pornographic websites or blogs are being submitted.

Blog Rush Traffic and Observations

After I’ve installed the Blog Rush widget on my blog, I’ve been carefully studying my traffic referrals from Blog Rush. I’ve found out that I’ve got more traffic when I’ve used a more effective title for my post.

Usually, the TITLE of the current post on your blog will be used to feature your site on other Blog Rush participating blogs. Hence, it is important that your title post should be effective in persuading other people to click on it. Here are the two posts on my blog after I’ve installed the Blog Rush widget.

Based on my observation, the earlier post (Increase Technorati Authority and Blog Ranking) earned more clicks than the later post. Apparently, the use of a more effective title makes a big difference. I’m still trying to observe Blog Rush and the traffic that I get from it. I’ll create a new post to report my findings in the coming days.
