As promised, I have implemented some changes here at Blogging Mix to make your visits and comments even more rewarding. Here’s the list of the new features I have added.
- Comments here at Blogging Mix have been made ‘DOFOLLOW’. - Finally, I was able to install a ‘DoFollow’ Wordpress Plug-in to make sure that links in the comments are followed by Google robots. There’s not much link juice at the moment because Google took my PR recently but I applied for reconsideration so I should get back my Page Rank in the coming weeks.
- Comments here at Blogging Mix get additional link - CommentLuv. - Other than getting a link for leaving your comments, your latest post will appear at the bottom of your comments. CommentLuv Plugin visits your feed and attempt to scrape the last post you made and display it under your comment. Try leaving your comments here and see for yourself.
- Top 5 Commentators get links at the sidebar of Blogging Mix. - I have also installed Top Commentators Widget to reward those who commented the most here at Blogging Mix. The comments are accumulated and updated every month. This will allow people new to Blogging Mix to have the chance to become one of the Top Commentators. All the 5 top commentators get a link to their blog and get free text ads on the sidebar of Blogging Mix.
If there’s anything you wish me to add here at Blogging Mix, feel free to use the Contact Form.
Thank you for your time and I hope you like the new features added here at Blogging Mix. ![]()

1. I see that your links in comments are still with nofollow.
2. Where did you applied for PR reconsideration? I want to apply to for 2 of my blogs.
3. Commentluv is a great plugin, I’ve used it for some time ago.
4. You should be aware that Top Commentators can be hijacked by spammers. They choose a name from your TC list and they link to a spam site, and in your TC list will appear the spam site instead of the good site.

You should also add the Subscribe To Comments plugin. When I comment on someone’s blog, I want to be notified if I get an answer.

@ Diana,
Links in the comment is made DOFOLLOW when you leave your comments more than 3 times. You can check the links to Wakish’s comments. All were made DOFOLLOW because he commented more than 3 times. I’m using Lucia’s Link Love and I love this feature as it trims down spammers.
Cheers,
Rocky

Happy Sunday,
Commentluv is a super plugin; I’ve installed it at my blogs as well. I also tried the automatic email thanks plugin, but took that off - I find that giving a personal emailed response is far more appreciated.
Best wishes,
Barbara

Thank you for helping to encourage young webmasters to be able to build some backlinks to their site. I also like that you have moderation on, so that it will cut down on spam, so that when i come to your blog, and read through the comments, I can find some good posts actually relating to the topic, rather than wading through tons of spam.

@ Barbara Ling,
At some point thanks plugin is helpful in reminding your visitors about your blog but in most cases, I believe it will annoy your visitors. And like you’ve said, it’s more appreciated if you thank your readers with a personal emailed response.

Very nice that you’re joining the do-follow movement. I’ve noticed that Do-follow blogs have notably greater community interaction.

I think this is a great strategy for encouraging interaction with the blogging community.. The only downside as others have pointed out is an increase in spam.
Stephan Miller responded on 15 Apr 2008 at 12:32 am #
It has increased comments on one of my blogs. I just installed it on another today and started a series of link love posts for CommentLuv users. Your blog is on the first post.

Hye, in order to apply for reconsideration you have to have a google webmaster account, which is free. Do a search on Google for Google webmaster and it will take you right to it. After you sign up, add your site and verify it. After it is verified, there is a link on the right hand side of the console page which says “request reconsideration”. Click on that link and fill out the information.

Interesting!
CommentLuv helps you reward your commentators by separating their name from their keywords in the link to their site. This gives them improved anchor text, which can help their site rank higher in the search engine results.
You can now leave a comment with your name as well as a keyword of your choice here and get a PR5 link back to your site! How cool is that? People pay big bucks for that and all you have to do is comment here.
