Recently, I was privileged to be introduced to Dotcomology. After spending a considerable amount to of time reading through it (this isn’t a small e-book), here is my honest review.
The Good
Ever read an e-book that turned out to be a clever sales page? I’ve read plenty and it was a nice surprise to find out that Dotcomology is not one those e-books. Dotocomology, written by Stone Evans, who is a very successful e-entrepreneur and a respected member of the internet marketing community, is pure information, 325 pages of information to be exact.
Forgive me for stressing the fact that this is content rich material, but with so much hype online, one must give credit to someone who is willing to write over 300 pages of valuable insight to offer to anyone seeking online wealth. And then give all that information away for free.
One of the first things that became obvious to me (I’m sure you’ll notice it once you download the book for free) just by looking at the web copy and glancing at the first few pages of the book is that Stone Evans is a no hype kind of guy. The book is written in no hype, straight forward, easy to understand manner.
This is great for someone like me who isn’t a tech wiz. I wasn’t sitting there with a dictionary trying to figure out what each word meant. Stone Evans went out of his way to thoroughly explain anything that he felt might raise confusion for the reader.
I recently bought a book from a guy (I won’t say his name so as not to embarrass him) but it was sloppy, confusing and irrelevant. Dotcomology is jam-packed page after page with some of meatiest content I have ever seen. His examples are easy to understand and he lays everything in an organized manner.
The Bad
The only negative thing I would have to say about Dotocomology was that, although Cinderella stories are great, Stone Evans could have cut his a bit short.
So what exactly did I learn in this information stacked e-book?
Tips and Tricks You’ll Learn
Here a just a few of the things Dotcomology taught me:
- How to set up an affiliate program the right way by picking the right partners that will turn your traffic into cash.
- The fundamental elements that should go into a successful web design. And I don’t mean a list of what you need, that can be found anywhere on the web, but a detailed explanation of what to think about when creating a site, why it’s necessary, and how to go about implementing it.
- How to create an effective navigation system. This is crucial knowledge as many websites fail to provide easy to navigate options for their users.
- How to write a compelling sales copy. If you’ve been on the web for a bit you know that your “voice†can make or break a sale. Find out what it takes to write the kind of copy that actually creates sales.
- The key thing you should look for when choosing a webhost
- Which web businesses are booming and why.
- How search engines work so you can properly optimize your pages. Don’t worry, you won’t lose head, Stone Evans explains it all in an easy to grasp style.
My favorite section would have to be the one that described why monitoring and tracking were so important (pg 49). Building a site is one thing. And once you download the e-book you’ll learn exactly how to do that, but finding out how it is performing is an entirely different game. Once I learned how to track my success, I actually started getting success.
It was a simple thing that I had neglected to do but once I did it changed the way my business functioned. I was able to better please my customers. I would never have
learned it if I didn’t take the time to download and read the book. I have no doubt that anyone who does not access this information will be losing a significant amount of sales as a result.
Another thing that really impressed me was that Dotcomology is supported by the internet marketing community. Countless people have read it and loved it. I can with full confidence recommend Dotcomology by Stone Evans. Quite simply, if you don’t read the book you’re leaving sales on the table.
