It’s been 3 days since I launched the mini site after talking about it in Making Money with Mini Sites, Step by Step. I didn’t do any link building yet, but it got indexed by Google in 2 days, just from the links that I used in the my previous article.
Here is how they rank so far, before any link building, just based on the SEO and the links that were pointed to them from this blog:
Ancient Warriors - 29th place in Google
Terracotta Warriors - not in top 1000
Aztec Warriors - 18th place in Google
The mini site got its first visitor from Google for the term aztec warriors and its first $0.16 click. I’m pretty satisfied with it so far. Top 30 for two of its keywords in just two days is not bad. I’ll do some link building today or tomorrow and I’ll update again when they rank better.

Hi Alex,
When will you reveal some more stats about this small project ?
(Cheers)

Gizmo, I was too lazy to do link building for it. It has around 3-400 page views per month I think and some clicks. All pages are PR2 from the 2 links I put here to each page.

How much money did you make so far from it ? And how much do you predict it would have made if you had promoted it a bit more ?
I’m asking you this because since I found your first post about this I’ve been thinking of launching my own mini sites.
(Cheers)

This one only made a few dollars so far. But the results are not correct, since it was used as an example and plenty of bloggers visited it. Without doing any link building, it’s on the 3rd page on Google for one of the 3 terms targeted.
Hard to tell how much it would make. Depends on the volume of the keywords that you’re targeting, on the click value for that niche, how much time you actually put into link building, on the competition. I’ve got mini sites that make $2-3/month and others that make $50. They could be doing more, but I hate staying on a project for too long. Link building is boring :).
