Well, a bit of a slow month in October, part of which is owed to me changing the writing style and the rest to a lower amount of promotion made. I tried writing more often, and succeeded for a while, but the quality suffered as a result. So, I’m going back to writing just a few posts per week. My time and my mood don’t really fit the 2-3 posts per day schedule, and I assume everyone would prefer if I wrote less often, but went into greater detail with my posts.
The visits and page views didn’t go up by much, but it’s better traffic now, since I had less StumbleUpon visitors. I did gain, 40 subscribers, the only metric that I follow, so I still consider it a 25% increase.
First number is for October and the number in brackets are from September.
- 6,624 visits (6,152)
- 11,349 page views (10,428)
- 470 visitors from search engines (440)
- Technorati Rank: 25,970 - authority 215 (27,770 - 176)
- Alexa Rank: 79,628 (105,434)
- Subscribers: 193 (152)
- 68 posts and 306 comments (42 - 235) (trackbacks included in comment numbers)
- 1396 downloads for the Shylock Adsense Plugin (968)
Plans for November include a free 2 column WordPress theme that I bought and plan to release, a few guest posts on big blogs from the make money online niche, less posts and more time put into them. Posting often doesn’t really work for me. Makes me miserable and I don’t enjoy writing this way.
Advertising Rates
Since I didn’t sell all the ads in October, I decided to drop the price considerably.
150×150 button (1 available) - $15 for the entire month or $0.50 per day if it gets sold later. So if you buy it on November 10, you pay just $10 for the 20 days left in November. Someone might steal it before then, so better hurry up ;).
160×600 banner (1 available) - $20 for the entire month or $0.70 per day if it gets sold later into the month.
468×60 banner in the header (1 available) - $10 for the entire month or $0.35 per day if it gets sold later.
Reviews: $15 alone, or $10 if ordered together with one of the ad spots. Because I’m going to post less often, I’ll also do a limited number of reviews, so better take your spot now if you want to order.
Use the contact page to get in touch with me and let me know which one you want. For reviews I’ll need payment before I do it. PayPal only.

Thanks again for the Shylock adsense plugin. It is amazing, and is bringing in a ton of new revenue.
In AdsenseDeluxe, the author included an option to rotate the author’s adsense code into your site 10% of the time. I suggest you do something similar, because I’m sure many people (me included) would turn it on to support you. Also, I’m sure if you made money from it you could invest more time in development.

Thanks for the comment Geoff. I’m not very comfortable with my Adsense code on sites that I don’t control, but I would be interested in backlinks. Something like one in every 10 posts to have a backlink to my blog, like “This blog uses the Shylock Adsense Plugin”, but only if the blogger turns the option on. Or a PayPal donation button to support the development of the plugin. Dunno
Anyway, I’ll try and get another version out by the end of the month. If you have any suggestions of things you’d like to see in the plugin, leave a comment.

Stats look good Alex and you seem to have a steady growth :D.

Hi Alex,
You need to tweak your “Related Posts” section of your design, at the bottom of the post, above the comments. It says “Put your related posts code here.” Mike

… sorry, your comment was caught by Akismet by mistake and I just saw it now.

The only other thing I would like to see is the ability to use it with the plugin Author Adsense, so that I can share revenue that comes from Shylock Adsense plugin with the authors that write the articles. I currently use Author Adsense for all static codes, but it doesn’t work for the Shylock code.
