I found this incredibly useful so I’m passing it along. I started using Hotmail for my email needs when I was about 15 years old. Until Google’s Gmail came out, Hotmail was the solution for me. Since then it has become painful having to check both email accounts as I’ve moved almost everything to Gmail because of a more rich feature set.
Here is a way to import your Hotmail account to Gmail so you can say goodbye to checking both, just keep in mind you need to log into Hotmail every 270 days to keep your account. Maybe Google can automate that too?
Here’s how to do it:
- Go to the Accounts tab from Gmail’s settings page and click on “Add a mail account you own”.
- Follow these settings:
- That’s it! All done. You also have the option to add the Hotmail address as a custom “From” address so you no longer have to compose messages in Hotmail.
Hope some of you found that tip useful, I sure did!
