No this is not a plug to try and get you to join mine :), but there are quite a few benefits of subscribing to RSS feeds in general - particularly if these feeds are in the same niche as your blog. If you follow these tips, I guarantee you will be more successful.
This is why:
Keeping Up to Date
One of the reasons that many people choose to subscribe to RSS feeds is to keep up to date on what is happening in their specific field, in internet marketing in general, or news around the world. Whatever your field or even if you are just interested in daily news, RSS feeds can bring information right to your desktop and save you having to look through many different websites and blogs to find the information you want to keep up to date on.
Spying on Your Competition
One of my favorites, it is often helpful to know what your competition is up to in order to know how you can best market or improve your products and services. RSS feeds enable you to subscribe to your competitors’ feeds and be kept up to date constantly on what they are offering and what new updates they have made to their website or blog. By understanding this you will be in a better position to improve on what they are offering and use that knowledge to gain more customers.
Getting Ideas for Content for your Blog and Feed
Many blog owners will take ideas for content from other blog owners; they may directly comment on another blog owner’s post on their blog or simply get basic topic ideas and put their own slant to these topics. Keeping up a blog can be difficult as you try to come up with unique ideas on a regular basis, but by sharing ideas with other blog owners you can get plenty of new ideas to keep your blog going.
Learn More
The more you learn, the more efficient you can be at your job and the more confident you will feel to try new things. RSS feeds can often help to teach you things that you never knew or make you think about things you probably have not thought of before. Having this knowledge at your disposal becomes a great tool in improving your work, finances, health, relationships or life in general.
RSS feeds aren’t that new to the field of internet marketing but have gained immense popularity lately. By following the tips I’ve outlined above, you can rest assured you’ll be in the loop in your industry, understand your competition, avoid writers block, and most importantly learn new things!
On a side note, I changed my mind about not plugging my own RSS feed, so here’s an extremely subtle link for you to join if you’d like to:
