I like to compare what the Google Adwords tool and Wordtracker give me - sometimes you find different results depending on the keyword. There are also some tools on the market too that help you to do the research without having to do all of it manually like Market Samurai or Micro Niche Finder. Andy makes a valid point…I bet once the Google penalties get lifted (assuming they do) the long tail traffic will come back.
