That title is correct. About two weeks ago we launched a feature that we’ve been very much excited about since conceiving the idea; the WhyDoWork Review System. Since launch last Sunday, we’ve had over 5000 visitors to that section of the site with the top links receiving hundreds of total clicks. As an added benefit, these top listed links also get free reviews of their site from other interested visitors. Does that sound like something you might be interested in? Keep in mind that it’s all free. Read on if you’re even a little bit intrigued.

The Idea: A Review Exchange System

Joe and I were brainstorming about other features that might make WhyDoWork.com a more valuable resource for the site audience. One point we both agreed with is that almost all of our members are small business owners having Internet based businesses. Assuming that as a foundational truth, we then discussed how we could best help out our users with their websites. We both came to the conclusion that:

  1. A system should be created that lets users add any kind of blog, affiliate link, personal page, or website they like to their account and list the link in our directory
  2. Any other user of this system should be able to visit and review any site any other user posts
  3. Those that are more active in reviewing other users links should be rewarded by appearing at the top of the directory
With that, we had the foundation for our new ‘Review Me’ system. It’s extremely easy to use and I guarantee you will get more traffic to your site or blog if you spend a few minutes a day reviewing other users links.
Here are some insider tips I’m only sharing with readers of this post on how to gain the most from the system.

How to Dominate the List and Get the Most Traffic

Using these methods I estimate you can get an additional 40 unique visits a day to your site minimum beginning immediately, all for free with less than 5 minutes of work per day. You must be a member of the site to participate, so join free if you haven’t already.

Add a Link to Your Profile

On everyone’s profile page, there is a spot to add in any link you’d like other users to review. Here is what mine looks like:

All you need to do is click (Add) next to the title and your link will be visible for all members to review. By clicking the title of your link you’ll be brought to your personal review page. Here’s mine.

Start Reviewing Other Members

Since you’ve just added your link it will now be visible on our high traffic reviews directory. It won’t be at the top, but it will remain fairly visible for a short time as our algorithm will recognize that it is a new link. If you want to make it to the top of the list, simply begin to review other member’s links: that is the secret sauce to the ranking algorithm. Anywhere on the WhyDoWork forums or reviews page where you see this icon review me next to someone avatar, you can write a review that will assist in improving your ranking. Any time you see this icon see reviews, it means you have already reviewed the link but you can read all reviews written about that link. Scan the forums and reviews directory for orange icons and write reviews until all you see is blue - You’ll be at the top of the directory and receiving great traffic and quality reviews from other business owners in no time.

Manage Your Responses and Come Back Often

Assuming you rank high in our directory, you’ll be receiving quite a bit of attention. Feel free to write back to reviewers on your review page and incorporate their suggestions into any changes you perform on your site. When you log into WhyDoWork, you’ll have the opportunity to see new reviews posted since your last visit, so it will be easy to spot new links:

 Spread the Word

If you own a blog, tell others about the additional traffic and benefits you’re getting as a result of participating in our review exchange program; the more people participating the better and more plentiful the reviews, and the more traffic everyone gets.

Let me know if you have any questions about the program. It is a great free opportunity to give your site more exposure and get constructive feedback in the process. :)
