I’m looking to get out a new version of Shylock Adsense next month, a major version with plenty of improvements. I already have a number of features that I want to add in this new version, but I’m open to other suggestions as well.
So, if you have something on your wish list that you want added to the Shylock Adsense Plugin, drop a comment in this post or use the contact form and let me know.

How about about a type of ad, that rotates, i.e. you can specify 5 different codes and they are placed randomly at the one of the positions.
I love your plugin btw.

Thanks Paul. I’ll look into it and see if I can do that while keeping the plugin easy to use.

you welcome. The plugin is already really functional, so it took a bit of thinking to come up with that idea.
also an ad click counter for normal html ads would be cool too.

Hello,
I already posted that : a “middle middle” option to show the middle adsense ;-).

yes : keep it easy :). For exemple adding a click counter could be a little bit too heaaavy :-/.

I’ve been looking for a replacement of the excellent but antiquated Adsense Deluxe plugin, and Shylock looks really good.
In addition to the tag, I’d like to see a new tag that allows you to embed it anywhere you want in a post rather than the default position.
Also, I’m not sure if this is going to be possible with this kind of plugin, but I’d like to see the ability to only display one inline ad on the home/index page. Say you have a 300×250 block you use inside posts. As it stands this block would show up in every single post on the index page, which would be overkill. :-X
Thanks for listening!

Lincoln, with Shylock Adsense you can only display ads once, twice or three times on a page. It doesn’t show up in every post.

Alexandru, Nice I need to play with it this weekend to see how it works out.

Just one more question: Does the code embedded in posts using Shylock show up in RSS feeds as well? If not you might want to consider this as an additional feature.

Thanks. That’s a good idea. I’ll see if it can be added.

I recently started using your Shylock Adsense Plugin. Nice work!
As for new features, I look forward to being able to show some ads only to search engine visitors, but I would also like to be able to serve up different ads (CPM based) to non search engine visitors.
It would also be nice if the homepage zone was different that the Front Page(categories, archive) section under general options.
Finally, it would also be great if we could put php into the ad code area. I’m thinking of using OpenAds php codes for some ad areas to help speed things up.
I look forward to the new version.

1) More positions for longer articles (eg after 1st paragraph, after 2nd-last paragraph
2) The option to randomise any postion, instead randomising the placements
3) The option to choose the positions to randomise (because I’d like to be able to randomly insert text, say, quotes, without them appearing at the top of the article)
4) the ability to style the inserts with CSS
5) the ability to use more than three positions (for when I’m not using Adsense)
6) the ability to upload and specify a text file with any number of alternatives to randomise for an ad position or ad placements.
7) the ability to run php from the inserted text
With all of the above, it would be a fantastic machine for all kinds of random inserts, to make somewhat similar pages more unique
