I have only been doing affiliate marketing for about 3 months now. I have not made any money from it yet. I do believe there is money to be made. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't expect it to happen over night while you are sleeping like alot of ads say you can do.

My website is brand new and still getting bigger. I work on it about 5 hours a week. I'm only spending about $30 a month on advertising. I guess you can say that I am moving real slow at getting things going.

The only advice that I can give anyone is don't get in a hurry, don't expect to much to fast, and READ EVERY THING IN THIS FORUM. This forum has helped me more than any ebook I have ever bought. (No offence intended to Swagen) LOL

Hi Terry:

No offense taken, but if you're doing Affiliate Marketing for 3 months and haven't made any money yet then you're going about it the wrong way. I don't know if you have my book or not and quite honestly, it doesn't matter. My first 5 months of affiliate marketing I also did everything wrong. In month 6 once somebody instructed me as to what to do, I made my first 3 sales in 8 days. So YES, it WILL happen overnight once you know what you're doing.

I suggest you take a look at the methods you are using to promote your affiliate products and re-evaluate your methods. If it hasn't happened in 3 months it won't. Trust me. I know what I am talking about.

You are probably right when you say I could be doing it wrong. What I have done is created an incomplete :D website. I have only had a google campaign up and running for the last 14 days. I am still playing with my keywords and bid on the keywords. I have only gotten about 40 clicks in the last 14 days from google. And only about 7 days having more than 2 keywords. Like you said I might be doing it wrong. I know that I am doing it slow  and doing lots of reading to try and figure out how to do it at all. I would like to thank you again Swagen for all the help you have given me in the last 3 months. Right now I am adding another line to my website and when I finish I would like you to take a look at it and tell me what you think. It could take me a month to finnish.

Thanks Again

Hi Terry:

It will be my pleasure to help you all I can. I learned the hard way so other people don't have to. But I guess everyone still has to go about it in their own way and at their own pace.

Maybe that's the one thing that I have to learn.

I still haven't got my head around affiliate marketing. Not with adwords anyway, have made a few sales from other areas but not through adwords. I have google cash, and still didn't make any money - only lost it, Chris Carpenter said that most people will spend $250 on advertising before they get it right and start making money. I gave up before then though, I didn't have $250 to risk.

The item in my signature is my biggest affiliate money maker - its SWEET!!!

Hi Shezz!

I was looking at SaleFlurry. Before I register, does it work similar to clickbank? I've already found one product I could promote.

I'm starting to get the hang of this affiliate marketing business.

Hi Sue

Yes it is very similar to clickbank but nowhere near as big as clickbank as its a fairly new company. Its fees are lower, all your affiliate companies will take a small fee out of the amount you make on commission, saleflurry fee is a lot lower than clickbanks.

I have listed a couple of my own books for sale on there, which I'm hoping is a good thing, getting them on there while the company is still young, I have made a few sales already without any promoting so its so far so good.

Lionkitty, I believe the hard work is in bringing traffic to you site. Without it you won't have sales.
Designing your site optimally also takes time, as does putting in CONTENT. It's important to have lots of fresh content on your site all the time so that Google will bring traffic to it. Writing articles and submitting them to article directories is also a way to bring traffic to your site. You write an article and at the bottom you put your "bio" which is a little something about you + a link to your site. This will bring people to your site and will also create a "backlink" to your site. Google rates the importance of a site by the number of sites that link there. It's as though other sites are "voting" for your site.

Affiliate marketing is difficult, but I would continue to invest in quality ebooks etc. Ewen Chia is good, as is John Reese. Spending money on education can save a lot of money that would have been spent on trial and error.
Kind regards,

LionKitty,

You should always try and leave your wed site up untill your new site is ready.

Now you can not be found.
