I'm curious about this too. I'm not sure what the Ultimate Affiliate Strategy actually is, but it sounds like something good!

Everything Steve has said so far in this thread has made a lot of sense and sounds like it follows a lot of advice in "The Plan". Then I found an interesting site in my travels - owned by guess who! If it is the one he's talking about (and I don't want to blow any whistles here) then it's a great site!

I liked it a lot :D

He's even gone to the niche that I have been researching - I had to smile when I saw some of the affiliate links he has there - a lot of the same one's I'd come across. I'm guessing there's a lot more to it than meets the eye, so I'd love to know how Steve is getting on too 8)

Update - February 5, 2007

Sorry I haven't updated in a while.

The site officially launched February 1. Currently, I have 16 people in my autoresponder series, which averages to about 3 per day. I should have close to 100 by the end up the month.

I have made 1 sale so far for $22 and change.

Not bad considering that I haven't spent one DIME on advertising and only use article submission and forum participation to promote the site.

I have 4 articles live with Ezine Articles, getting about 6 views per day.

I have 3 pending articles.

I will be submitting 1 article per day this year. I should have over 300 by the end of the year.

I don't expect this to blossom over night. I expect that it will take 6 months to a year before this really takes off and I get a following. It is not an easy niche. Honestly, it isn't too much easier than IM but it is something I have believed in for years.

I'll keep you posted from time to time on how it's going.

Oh, and don't forget to check out the WhyDoWork special for my 4000th post. All you guys who didn't get my Honest Income Program yet can pick it up from WhyDoWork at a special link for only $22.95. That's $7 off the regular price.

Don't let this one get away from you.

Congrats on the sale Steven. That's pretty good for completely free advertising, well done.

Update - Feb 13, 2007

Well, a week has gone by since my last update. I've gone from 16 subscribers to 28 in my list.

I am still submitting an article a day to Ezine Articles. I now have 13 live articles for my new niche.

Note: I am doing no other promotion (not even PPC) for this niche other than article writing, which proves that this alone will bring subscribers.

I have received quite a few emails complimenting me on the site and my information.

Still only the one sale, but I know that over time as my list grows, this will change. Also, I can't really tell how many sales may have been lost due to the Clickbank problem with SpyBot as all my affiliate sales are down everywhere. Clickbank is working on the problem and hopefully they will have it solved soon.

I'll report back again next week.

Steven - If I understand correctly, you are going to be writing 300 articles on the same niche?
How on earth is that possible? That sounds like a major challenge to me.
It's hard enough coming up with 52 autoresponder messages!

If you're a writer, it's not hard. I am currently working on an IM project which will consist of over 700 articles.

When you write as fast as Steven, 300 articles is nothing.

My problem is I can write that fast too, but it takes me forever to correct all the spelling mistakes.

the 52 auto responder message series isn't that hard. They done have to be long. 100 words or so should be fine.

The project I'm working on right now, I started the beginning of this month and have already written over 140 articles and I haven't even scratched the surface yet.

So what's the secret of coming up with WHAT to write? I can usually think of, maybe 5 - 10 articles on a topic and even that's stretching it!
Do you just keep saying the same thing but in a different way or do you manage to come up with 300 different perspectives?

Somehow, I can see being able to write alot of articles for the IM niche but not for a different, very narrow one.

The secret is knowledge. There are a lot of topics out there for many niches but if you don't have the knowledge of them you obviously can't write about them.

Knowledge is very much the key... I am working on a niche that I don't know much about but have realised that doing alot and I mean alot of reading will go a long way in helping me write good quality content for my site...
Even with the knowledge Steven is quite an exception... because with the topics that I am more knowledgeable about it is still a challenge dishing out 1 a day.. while Steven seem to be doing so at will....

What you have to understand is that I've been writing since I am 10 years old and I'm now 49. I've written novels, tech manuals, poems, songs, ebooks, articles, just about everything you can think of.

After doing something long enough, you can do it in your sleep.

It just takes a lot of practice.

Update - Feb 20, 2007

Well, things are going very slow. I've gone from 28 to 32 subscribers this past week.

I am still stuck on the 1 sale that I had early on.

I have 19 articles live with Ezine Articles right now with number 20 waiting for approval.

Looks like I'm in for a long haul.

I'll keep you posted.
