I had a successful ebay seller's account for several years. I was selling collectibles. I recently stopped selling on Ebay because of the sky high fees too. They just kept adding more and more to the final listing price fee until I had decided that it just wasn't worth all the effort anymore and closed my account. They sure got more and more greedy over the years.

I am not sure I really hate eBay. With the high fee's, the constant policy changes, the stress and "walking on eggshells" feeling one get's when selling on eBay, it has actually boosted our users and listings dramatically and made us one of the fastest growing online marketplaces today. EBay has actually made our jobs much easier. We have so many powersellers signing up and you know what they respond to most, us listening to them and converting their feedback to new features on the site, on the double! So as you can understand with our rapid growth it is hard for me to dislike EBay.

When I sold on Ebay I didn't have too much competition because I was selling collectible items from Sweden...things I picked up in second-hand and antique stores. All of my items were pretty unique and I got a lot of bids. The darn fees from EPREY were eating me alive so I quit.

I find myself reorting to ebay for Hello Kitty items. I collect Hello Kitty quite often. I was very upset though I was trying to keep positive feedback but I bought a stroller ad then the store told me that it was damaged and that I did not have to pay if I did not want the damaged one. Of course I am not going to pay for an unsafe item for my child so I told them I did not want it and they filed an unpaid item ticket anyway. I emailed ebay about it and they said that it should have been taken care of through them. I was so upset an they sai the only way to get the negative mark off was to buy the item from the store.

Ebay just isnt worth it imo....Its SoOo much better ...for a million reasons have your own online store....Period. For the committed seller having your own domain name and control of a store is the way to go.

This ebay buyer won my bid then demanded that I wrap and ship the 22 miniature bottles separately at my cost. I said no way, it will cost me too much time and money. I refunded her money. Two months later she leaves me negative feedback and lies saying that I wanted more money after the bid.
